The RPG elements are dumbed down to the point they feel tacked on, whilst the abilities that do remain often go unused, because in the heat of a battle it’s too overwhelming and difficult to focus on the right unit, use their ability and still keep your strategic head on when managing the flow of battle. Having to play as each of the three factions doesn’t help, as they all have distinct traits and abilities that require time to master.
