Nintendo has just announced “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity” for the Nintendo Switch!

More:

A century before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the world was ravaged by the great disaster. Hyrule landed in a period of darkness, destroyed by an ancient evil that changed the kingdom forever. While this major disaster was briefly cited in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch, fans have never experienced firsthand what happened before that catastrophic event… until now.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 20, will transport players back before the great disaster and present spectacular, strategic battles in familiar locations across Hyrule before its destruction. A variety of well-known characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will appear in the game, including Link and Zelda, as well as other familiar faces such as the four Chosen Ones, who will be playable for the first time in the Hyrule Warriors series.

In the video Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – A Story Set 100 Years Before Breath of the Wild, Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series, and Yosuke Hayashi, producer of Hyrule Warriors at Koei Tecmo Games, talk about how Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity came to be and the first trailer for the game is revealed.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity features spectacular gameplay known to fans of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors. Gameplay focuses on combos and extreme special abilities, and is all about speed and strategic action. Players looking for an intense action game that is directly connected to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be in luck with this title. In addition, the game tells an in-depth story that depicts in detail the events, relationships and dramatic moments of the great disaster.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes a lot of inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – not just graphically. Numerous characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are playable, including Link and Zelda. Not only will players slash and slash their way through hordes of enemies to protect Hyrule; they will also solve puzzles, unlock weapons and abilities, craft items from collected materials, visit shops to purchase supplies and use the power of the Sheikah stone, which fans will recognize from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The game will be released on November 20, 2020 on Nintendo Switch!
