After years of waiting, Valve has finally announced their new game! It’s Half… no, wait. Sorry. It’s Artifact!
Artifact is a spin-off CCG from the DOTA universe, which in itself was spun off from Warcraft, which now has Hearthstone as it’s CCG. Artifact is entering a crowded market, with Fable Fortune and Gwent in Early Access, whilst Magic The Gathering games continue to be released, just to name a few.
Artifact’s trailer, embedded below, doesn’t really say much, other than to expect a 2018 release. On Twitter, Brad Muir, formerly of Double Fine and lead on games includingiron Brigade & Massive Chalice, confirmed that he is the lead for Valve on Artifact.
It’s fair to say that Artifact wasn’t the game announcement many fans were hoping for, but Valve remains a secretive organisation and who knows what they might be working on in the background. We’ll have more to share on Artifact when we hear it.
