To achieve truly remarkable results, however, it is essential to create a balanced team, whose characters can work together flawlessly. Every wrestler has unique characteristics and offers the best in specific situations of battles. Fighters like Androide 18 or Freezer are perfect to start the duel and load the bars for the teammates, thanks to a series of useful elements to keep up the pressure by taking advantage of the team’s assists.

Graphics:

Dragon Ball FighterZ is very entertaining in terms of graphics. Whether on PS4 (Pro) or Xbox One (X), the game runs very smooth, without slowing down, even if the cinematics of the story mode are turn into 12 fps. It has graphics very similar to the previous ‘Guilty Gear’ game, with a 3D cel-shaded giving a 2D impression which is regularly broken by multiple and spectacular camera movements. This formula fits perfectly with the manga aspect of DBZ, and with all the destructions of scenery, spectacular finish moves etc and we must admit, we just love that.

The arenas, the way they evolve and destroy themselves during the most violent clashes, the models of the characters and their style of struggle have been realized showing the utmost respect for the source of inspiration. Not only the moves in the game were performed at least once in the comic or in the TV series, but their transposition was made with care certosina, almost tracing the tables of the manga in which they appeared for the first time. The accuracy is such that you could spend whole days analyzing each frame, and then find it in the comics. This is an impressive result, which is rarely seen when you are faced with a game inspired by existing sources. Loyalty to Toriyama’s work, however, does not stop there.

Regarding music and sounds, the original English and Japanese dubbers were used and among the introductions and the victory events of the characters were inserted several quotes, reproduced with extreme care both in the jokes and for the poses assumed by the fighters. To make everything even more faithful, you can also download the original soundtrack, even if the music made by the studio perform their task of accompanying the action very well.

Conclusion:

Dragon Ball FighterZ” is a very solid fighting game and definitely one of the best DBZ games ever made! Not only does it offer solid gameplay, the graphics are top-notch and the various music/sound tracks are absolutely masterpieces. We had such much fun with this game, even if DragonBall doesn’t ring a bell, you’ll love this fighting game just as everybody loves Street Fighter.
