F12020 Review

Foruma 1 into Covid-19

Based on the total amount, the player has to choose the company that will supply him with the necessary powertrain, and so Honda and Renault look less affordable and, as expected, Ferrari and Mercedes more expensive. Of course, the team mate must be included in the total budget, and this requires special thought. Having now the control of an entire team, the choice of the second driver should be made very carefully, because in addition to his financial requirements, his experience should also be taken into account, because in practice he will be the direct opponent of the player and the barometer of its performance. The aim is for the team to collect valuable points in each match, to satisfy its main sponsor, and in the end the player himself to be in front of his teammate. Otherwise his driving skills will be questioned, the removal from his position will not seem so far away and all this to the detriment of the sponsor who may break the contract and leave, under the pretext of being below the requirements team performance.

Of course, all of the above is captured quite cleverly, with Codemasters mixing statistics images with real-life action scenes from the track and generally the title is possessed by a finesse that only an official F1 proposal could have. As expected, F1 2020 is not only consumed in the background, and so it is no coincidence that for another year its dynamics seem unstoppable. The games have a unique rhythm and dizzying speed, while the strategy also plays a leading role.

Physics:

The top physics have been transferred intact since F1 2019, and only a super slow speed replay can bring out the unique mastery with which the development team has designed and then adjusted these cars to brake and turn, straining the suspensions but and all the aerodynamic aids they carry. Special mention should be made of the tires and the way they wear out. The camber angle should be carefully adjusted for the most balanced wear possible, the passage through the curbs will also play its role, while the choice of the racing line and the way it will gradually become visible, are just a few of the many advantages of the title.

Presentation:

F1 2020 may have been lucky this year with traffic dropping right at the start of the season, but Codemasters still doesn’t seem to be calming down. The first big update is already expected, where in addition to some aesthetic touches on the cars – let’s not forget that the institution shows its attitude against racism – the adaptation of the Mercedes DAS system is eagerly awaited, where together with the existing DRS and ERS, will make it even harder for players. The test was based on the title version for the PlayStation 4 (Pro), and like last year the overall picture is impressive, both in terms of display and screen refresh rate. The use of the gamepad was unexpectedly trouble-free, and with few exceptions the left analog lever was always very direct and precise. Unfortunately it was not possible to use a steeringwheel, but even so driving was a real pleasure.

The sound in F1 2020 is impressive. The unique thorn of modern F1, the development team overcomes it with the hue of unforgettable V12 engines, where with the appropriate equipment at home, the whole neighborhood will stand on its feet. The list of vehicles could be described as simply dreamy, and although once again there are no historic vehicles, there is really no room for additional complaints. The test was based on the Schumacher Edition, a tribute to the German athlete, and so the list adds the Benelton B194 and B195, the green Jordan 191 and the Ferrari F2000, the car that started the Italian team’s golden age.

Conclusion:

F1 2020 is a fully complete and technically improved racing game. However in a sense, it falls into the trap of the annual update, and what is a little shame is that it does not have the same degree of development as the one it saw in F1 2019 in relation to its predecessor. Maybe the fact that the hardware is no longer sufficient is to blame. Still if you’re a fan … get F1 2020 because you won’t be disappointed at all!
