Hades Review

Hades is about to conquer the rest of the consoles ...

But of course it becomes less fun when chance makes you, only equipped with a handful of small improvements, suddenly stand in front of a boss model extra evil.

Another thing that makes all deaths and replays rather positive is the characters Zagreus meets on his journey. It is a colorful gallery of characters based on the gods, demigods and other celebrities of Greek mythology, and they are more than happy to exchange a few words with the prince of the realm of the dead. The story that is carried forward by these meetings may not be astonishing, but thanks to the eminent voice actors, we are still sucked into the story and want to reach its end.

Presentation:

We do not find the most noticeable improvement completely unpredictable in the graphics. At first glance, the Switch and Playstation 5/Xbox Series X versions may look similar, except that the higher 4k resolution makes it easier to appreciate all the details in the always equally delicious environments. Perhaps the biggest improvement, on the other hand, is more subtle and is found in fuller colors and more atmospheric lighting; the previously so good-looking Switch version suddenly becomes a bit meager and lifeless in direct comparison.

The same can really be said about sound. What sounded good on Switch sounds even better here, which of course is extra positive when the music and the conversations are two of Hade’s strongest sides. But that being said, there are no astonishing improvements.

Conclusion:

On the other hand, it does not matter if you play Hades on Playstation, Xbox, Switch or PC. If you have the slightest interest in classic action games, Hades is a must regardless of format. With intense battles, beautiful views and great characters, it’s not just one of the best games of the year – it’s one of the best indie games ever.
